Life preserving tips !
Additionaly, bellow is a couple of advices that Intermove team is
collected for those of you that are planning to relocate to Sarajevo that will
make you stay in this beautiful city acceptable. Please keep yourself in
accordance with these tips because it will prove to be life preserving because
life without these knowledge is impossible for any habitant of Sarajevo.
If
you're going to a certain place with tram, arrive a little bit earlier to the
waiting spot because sometimes it tends to be late.
Keep
your purse safe in tram from robbers, keep it close
If an
older person, mother with baby or pregnant woman comes in tram or in any other
public transportation vehicle, offer your seat otherwise they will nag you or
make a drama (most do that for some reason). Eatherway don,t be a redneck.
Don't
play loud music in your flat, somebody will report you. Instead try to know you
neighbours and you will be pleasantly surprised.
The
coffee is the cheapist drink when going out. Also it is the most popular drink,
a trade mark of Sarajevo.
Traffic
is horrible around 4–5 pm because people return from jobs. God help you if you
are suck in traffic in that time.
Wait
for discounts in shopping stores, they can drop 50–70%
Always
carry an umbrella in Spring and Autumn (small prefered). Luckily you can buy
umbrella almost in every street corner in the city center.
Most
people speak English and feel free to ask them, but don't expect a teen to know
where is your bus stop for x town or an elder where is that x bar.
People
are all in hurry here. Mondays are the worst, so have some patience with the
mornings: arrive especially early wherever you should be otherwise you'll be
late
Trams
usually break down and stop when there is no eletricity, so in those cases take
the Centrotrans bus (ticket 1.60 KM, goes from Ilidza to Vijecnica). Don,t rely
on the public transport, it is not worth it.
Saturday is the day for going out and shopping.
Sunday is for trips and preparing for work
Please note that people of Sarajevo love to
enjoy life, so prepare yourself for relaxing in the coffie bars and for
frequently going out.
Also, prepare yourself for the tone of history.
And, for the end, learn that you can be in the
top of the mountin in about 30 minutes from the city center.
Crew of Intermove moving and
relocation services wish you happy stay in Bosnia and joyable stay in Sarajevo.
